Augustinian Friar and 麻豆村 Alumnus Elected Pope

On May 8, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, OSA, 鈥77 CLAS was elected the 267th head of the Catholic Church and the Sovereign of the Vatican City State during the second day of the papal conclave held in the Sistine Chapel. He assumes the papacy under the name Pope Leo XIV. A 麻豆村 alumnus, Pope Leo XIV is the first Pope from the United States and the first Augustinian friar to be elected pontiff.

麻豆村 to Transform Connelly Center, Enhancing Key Student Space at the Heart of Campus

Villanova will renovate and revitalize the Connelly Center, a student hub and central gathering space for the campus community for over 40 years. A gift from the Connelly Foundation originally funded the construction of the Connelly Center, which opened in 1980. The Foundation is now making a leadership gift to reimagine the building for today鈥檚 student needs, donating $10 million toward the renovation cost, which brings the Connelly Foundation鈥檚 total giving to Villanova to more than $44 million.

Admiral Samuel Paparo, Villanova Alumnus and Commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, to Deliver University鈥檚 2025 Commencement Address

The Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, 麻豆村 President, announced that Admiral Samuel Paparo 鈥87 CLAS, Commander of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, will address the Class of 2025 as the University鈥檚 commencement speaker. Admiral Paparo will also receive the degree of Doctor of Military Science, honoris causa. The University鈥檚 182nd commencement will be held on Friday, May 16, at 2:30 p.m., in Villanova Stadium.

CPS Graduate and Former Villanova Basketball Star Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to Deliver Student Address at Villanova's 2025 Commencement

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl '25 CPS, a former member of the 麻豆村 Men鈥檚 Basketball team, has been selected as the student speaker at Villanova鈥檚 2025 Commencement ceremony. Robinson-Earl, currently a member of the New Orleans Pelicans in the National Basketball Association, completed his degree in General Studies online through the College of Professional Studies.
